"Understanding Knee Injuries"

December 1st
Kathy Browder - HPERD

Abstract: Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries continue to be one of the most common knee injuries in the United States, resulting in healthcare costs in the billions for surgery and rehabilitation alone. And yet, with 20 years of research on ACL injuries, we still understand little about the exact causes of these injuries. The good news is that even with our lack of understanding about specific causes, several promising training programs have been developed to prevent ACL injuries. During this session, we will discuss the causes of ACL injuries and the characteristics of good prevention programs.
