U of I Launches Africana Studies Minor

Students at the University of Idaho can now earn an interdisciplinary minor in Africana Studies in the College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences. With this minor, students will come to understand the historical, political and social contexts behind contemporary global politics and racial relations. 19 CLASS Students Receive Alumni Excellence Awards

On Friday, Dec. 8, 19 students from the College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences will be honored with an Alumni Award for Excellence. This is award is given by the University of Idaho Alumni Association to undergraduate seniors, graduate students and law students who have achieved outstanding academic success and have demonstrated career and professional preparation; campus and community leadership and involvement, or are leaders in the classroom, laboratory, campus and community. CLASS students made up 38 percent of the total award recipients. Read more

Palouse French Film Festival Begins Oct. 3

Every Tuesday evening from Oct. 3 through Oct. 24, the Kenworthy will show a film presented in French with English subtitles as part of the eighth annual Palouse French Film Festival. All films will begin at 7 p.m. In addition, there will be opening and closing receptions held at 6 p.m. on Oct. 3 and at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 24 at the Kenworthy.
