Vicki joined the faculty in fall 2003, after spending a year as a Kiplinger Fellow at The Ohio State University, where she completed a master’s degree in journalism. She also taught advanced reporting classes and served a quarter as adviser for the student newspaper. Prior to that she spent six years as media adviser for Student Publications at Washington State University. Most of her career as an editor and reporter was spent at the Moscow/Pullman Daily News.
Vicki has a passion for telling stories, and that passion extends to watching students develop their writing skills. She also have a long-standing love affair with journalism great and small; if freedom is the fabric of a democracy, surely journalism is the thread from which it is stitched together. Her academic interests in journalism have mostly centered around how journalists cover the court system.
