Julie Scott teaches Media Writing, Broadcast News and Broadcast Sports Reporting.

Julie Scott teaches Media Writing, Broadcast News, Broadcast Sports Reporting and is the producer of “Inside the Vandals.”

“Inside the Vandals” is a television program produced in the Broadcast Sports Reporting class every fall. The weekly half-hour program airs on television stations in Idaho. Julie also works with ESPN, the WAC Network and other companies when they broadcast games from the Kibbie-ASUI Center.

When she’s not teaching JAMM students, Julie is a freelance reporter for Northwest Public Radio; a sports reporter for The Associated Press, covering both the PAC-10 and the Western Athletic Conference; and a part-time news producer with KXLY in Spokane.

Julie worked for 10 years in radio and television news at KXLY-TV and KXLY-AM in Spokane, wearing multiple hats. She worked as a radio-TV news producer, radio-TV talk show producer and online news producer for KXLY.com. She wrote, edited and anchored daily newscasts. Julie helped to develop a mid-day radio show, which she directed, wrote and edited, and she produced a weekly television segment "Spirit of Sports" from 2003-2005. She is a golf coach and a certified tennis pro.
