IRTY Company Information

The Merry Wives of Windsor
Grades: K-10

Idaho Repertory Theatre for Youth provides young people with high quality, innovative, participatory theatre arts education and training, taught by theatre professionals and teaching artists. Students learn to: work collaboratively, think creatively, increase self-confidence, and build language arts and performance skills.

Scholarships are available based on financial need. Email sduval@uidaho.edu  to request a scholarship application.

NEW THIS YEAR!  IRTY Company: The Merry Wives of Windsor

Auditions: Saturday, June 29 1-5pm, Shoup Hall

Workshops: Cast A workshops: July 12 and 15-17, 9am-12:30pm
Performances: Cast A performances July 17, 18, and 20 at 7:30pm

Cast B workshops: July 22-25, 9am-12:30pm
Cast B performances July 25, 26, and 28 at 7:30pm

Participation fee: $150 per cast member ($140 for students who also enroll in an IRTY summer camp.)

Youth 8-16 are invited to audition for the IRTY Company! Twenty youth will be selected for one of two casts performing as the ensemble of fairies and goblins in the professional IRT production of Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor.

IRTY Company members will learn about the art of professional theatre by: 
  • participating in workshops and rehearsals,
  • taking part in backstage activities,
  • creating their own costumes and musical instruments,
  • and performing in the professional production.


No preparation or experience is necessary to audition. Participation fee includes material fees for costumes and props to be created and kept by company members plus two complimentary tickets to the play.
