Visiting Scholars & Short Courses

In addition to its dedicated staff and faculty, the Martin Institute regularly hosts scholars from all over the world.  Whether they teach one of our “short courses” spanning three to four weeks of a semester or arrive to conduct research, they contribute to the global competence of IS majors.  Over the past several years, visiting scholars have arrived from Spain (Dr. Noe Cornago Prieto), Morocco (Dr. Mohamed Adiouane), the United Kingdom (Dr. Tayo Oke), China (Dr. Luo Huijun), and Tunisia (Dr. Jawed Zouari), and taught courses on Islam, Africa and Development, the European Union and the Arab Spring.
