Kelli Gardner Schrand was attracted to the Martin Institute and Program in International Studies after seeing the high caliber of students in the IS program. Beginning her career at U of I as the Assistant College Advisor for the College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences she noticed right away how engaged and passionate the IS students were toward their academic careers and was able to join the department in 2007. After earning a bachelor’s degree in History from Southern Utah University she worked as the manager for Kelly Services in Logan, Utah. Kelli completed a Diversity and Stratification Academic Certificate in 2011. She and her husband Brandon, an assistant professor in Creative Writing, live in Moscow with their two children, Mason and Madeline.
