American Studies
The American Studies Program at the University of Idaho is an interdisciplinary program offering both a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science degrees, as well as a minor. Those majoring in American Studies have a choice of three emphases:

B.A. and B.S. REQUIREMENTS
Required course work includes the university requirements (see regulation J-3), general L&S requirements for the B.A. degree or B.S. degree, and:
AMERICAN STUDIES MINOR

B.A. and B.S. REQUIREMENTS
Required course work includes the university requirements (see regulation J-3), general L&S requirements for the B.A. degree or B.S. degree, and:
- AmSt201, Introduction to Ethnic Studies, and AmSt 301, Interpreting America (normally, one course each semester will be offered - see adviser), and a three credit designated upper-division American Studies course or a three credit capstone course in a major area of emphasis
- Completion of a major areas of emphasis
AMERICAN STUDIES MINOR
- AmSt 301 Interpreting America (3 cr)
- Six courses numbered 300 or above, chosen from the emphasis lists under the American Studies major (18 cr) Note: No course used toward an American Studies minor may also be used toward any major.
