Inter-institutional Course Collaboration

Inter-institutional American Indian Studies MOU

In March of 2008, the Presidents of five area schools of higher education signed a Memorandum of Understanding to “strengthen the instruction and scholarship about, and services to Native Americans offered by each institution.”

The American Indian Studies sub-committee of the MOU Working Group has worked to provide all students of these institutions the opportunity to enroll in American Indian Studies/Native American Studies courses at any of the five institutions. So if you are a student at any of the five schools, you may enroll in AIS/NAS courses at any of the other school and your credits will accrue to your home institution.

Here’s How to Do This:

Students should check the schedule of courses at the school(s) they are interested in attending. Once you have found your class or classes, you must apply to that college as a non-degree-seeking student. Once you have been accepted, you will receive instructions for having your financial aid applied to the course-offering institution. Below are the five collaborating institutions and a link to their Application/Admission sites:

  • Lewis-Clark State College
  • Washington State University
  • North Idaho College
  • Northwest Indian College
