Specialize in English Education

This program for certified English teachers allows you to build your subject-area knowledge with advanced courses in writing, linguistics and English literature. You will sharpen your teaching skills through in-depth study and can choose to continue teaching and earn your degree through the Grace Nixon English Institute over a period of several summers.

  • Already-certified secondary teachers complete this degree through taking summer courses in the Nixon Institute, which pays course fees and housing.
  • The M.A.T. degree doesn’t require students to be on campus during the academic year.
