    Ski bum (1969). Denver General Hospital – psychiatric orderly (1970-72). Travel through South and Central America (1972-1974). Logger (1974-1980). Grad student (1981-1983). Helped create new language center, WSU (1984-87). Taught at WSU (1984-1990). Teach at UI (1990-2009). Retire (2009). Mt. Logan – four week expedition (1997), Mt. Kennedy –three week expedition (1999). Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan, China, Russian Far East (2002-2007).
