Academic Advising

The success of our students is the number one priority in the College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences. Meeting regularly with your advisor will enable you to make good academic choices, identify sources of support, and ultimately, help ensure your success.

If you are an undergraduate student who has declared a major in one of our departments, you are assigned a faculty member or peer mentor from your department as your advisor. 

If you are an undergraduate student who has not yet decided on a major, if you are a junior or senior majoring in General Studies, or if you are struggling in your academic progress, you will meet with Kris Roby, the College Advisor. Kris will work with you to help you be successful and to decide the path you wish to take. She can be reached at kroby@uidaho.edu or (208) 885-7765.

If you are a General Studies major who is a freshman or sophomore, you will meet with Jo Lacher who help you choose the classes you need to take and advise you on student clubs and organizations and career opportunities. She can be reached at jol@uidaho.edu or at (208) 885-2024.  Her office is located in the Administration Building, Room 119.

Students who need help with academic petitions, financial aid disqualification, or academic disqualifications will have the help of Crystal Roberg, Assistant College Advisor.
