Interdisciplinary Programs
We draw on faculty expertise and resources from across the college and the University to offer the following interdisciplinary programs:- Interdisciplinary Studies: Reach beyond traditional disciplinary boundaries and work closely with an adviser to create a customized program that combines elements of two or more departments.
- American Studies: Gain a rich and complex understanding of U.S. history, society and cultures – both past and present.
- Latin American Studies: Explore courses in anthropology, history, Spanish and economics to develop an understanding of the history, society, politics and economics of Latin American countries.
- American Indian Studies (minor): Examine Native American peoples, their histories, cultures and contemporary concerns.
- Religious Studies (minor): Enhance your understanding of people and cultures. A strong complement to a bachelor's degree in such areas as anthropology, sociology, international studies or history. Serves as a stepping-stone for professional training in theological seminaries or rabbinical schools.
- Women’s Studies (minor): Examine cultural variables like class, ethnicity, nationality, sexual identity and age. Prepares students for opportunities in fields such as gerontology, mass communications, nursing, recreation, criminology, economics, health services, social work, law, psychology and education.
