Scholarships

The need for scholarships is great, and there are many opportunities for giving. You can contribute to a general scholarship fund from which awards are made each year. Or, you may choose to create an endowment – or contribute to an existing one – that is invested and managed by the University of Idaho Foundation and awarded over time to benefit students in specific colleges and programs.

Scholarship gifts in any amount are appreciated and welcomed. The Foundation’s professional staff can provide you with the detailed information about how you can provide scholarship assistance to our students.

Scholarship programs which could be strengthened by your donation include:

1. Annual Contribution Scholarship
These are one-time, general gifts made without established criteria. This type of support allows the college to award scholarships where they are most needed.

2. Designate Your Support to any one of our majors.

The following majors currently have the greatest need:

• Modern Languages & Cultures
• Journalism and Mass Media
• Philosophy
• Psychology and Communication studies
• Sociology & Anthropology
• Study Abroad Scholarships 

These majors have established support, and additional support is always welcomed and appreciated: 

• English 
• History
• Lionel Hampton School of Music
• Political Science
• Theatre Arts
