Honoring Our Legacy: Past, Present and Future
Since the University of Idaho’s earliest days, the institution has taken pride in preparing generations of leaders who have played significant roles in the development of our state. Our proud legacy of leading spans 120 years of high quality academics, civic engagement, research and creative activity, student life and alumni achievement. When Teddy Roosevelt visited the University in 1911, he spoke in supportive terms about the University of Idaho’s importance to the state’s future. That fact is truer today, as we look ahead with the University's 17th President — Dr. M. Duane Nellis — at the helm.
Celebration of Leadership Week (October 12-16) brought together University stakeholders who have a passion for the institution's future and the statewide University community — faculty, students, staff, alumni, parents, supporters, donors and friends — to explore more fully how the University's role as a flagship institution can provide greater leadership to the state, the region and the world. It was a time to set the stage for Idaho's future.
