A few important notes about these advising guides:
- This page contains the updated Advising Guides for students planning on transferring from North Idaho College (NIC) to the University of Idaho in Coeur d’Alene. If you are transferring to the University of Idaho from an institution(s) other than NIC, you can meet with an advisor to discuss how your previously earned college credits might apply to a particular major or program. The Registrar’s office at the University of Idaho will provide an official evaluation of your transfer credit after you are accepted for admission to U-Idaho. See more info on transfer credit evaluation.
- Students who have earned an Associate of Arts (A.A.) or Associate of Science (A.S.) degree from a regionally accredited institution will enter University of Idaho with their general education requirements satisfied. Students who do not earn an Associate’s degree must satisfy the State Board of Education Core requirements.
- The advising guides below are for students who plan on completing an Associate of Science in General Studies from NIC* and wish to use those classes towards a particular bachelor’s degree at U-Idaho. Some students may choose to pursue an Associate’s degree in a particular area of study (for example, education, psychology, pre-nutrition, etc…). Please consult with an NIC or U-Idaho advisor to discuss how your coursework might vary depending on the type of Associate’s degree you plan on completing.
* The Advising Guide for the B.A. English Literature degree includes the requirements for an A.S. degree in English at NIC rather than General Studies.
