The Harbor Center, located at the north end of the North Idaho College campus in Coeur d’Alene, has a three-station computer lab open to all Vandals. Bring your Vandal ID and check in at the main lobby.
The Harbor Center also offers 24-hour laptop checkout for Coeur d'Alene students.

Requirements

• You must be enrolled in a U of I course and keep an active VandalMail account.
• Bring your state-issued picture ID.
• Bring printed copies of the Notebook Checkout Form and the Borrower's Responsibility Document, filled out except signature section.

High-quality copy, print and scan services are available at both the Harbor Center and the DeArmond Building for U of I Coeur d’Alene students. The print limit is 22 pages per day per student. The print center in the Harbor Center is located near the Student Lounge, and the print center in DeArmond is located in the Student Services Center.

Faculty provide advising for Coeur d’Alene students, which means you get advice from the professionals who know their field and program from all angles.

The Coeur d'Alene Graduate and Professional Student Association (GPSA) exists to support the graduate student community in Coeur d'Alene and provide an avenue for accessing university resources for students. This includes organizing and hosting open meetings throughout the academic year and awarding funds for travel, projects and publications.

The Harbor Center has dedicated spaces for students to study, relax, regenerate and enjoy the view. Our student lounge has tables for individuals or working groups, as well as couches for the days when you need to take a breather. The Harbor Center lobby is also open to all Vandals who need a place to gather. And the faculty and staff at U of I Coeur d’Alene generously stock a small coffee bar in the student lounge with Keurig cups, tea and hot chocolate or cider.

The DeArmond Building, the Hedlund Building and the Harbor Center were all built and arranged with students in mind. You’ll find study spaces, rooms and nooks in each building large enough for groups or private enough for just you. Our partnership with North Idaho College also makes their study spaces available to Vandals – check out the Edminster Student Union Building, Molstead Library or Meyer Health and Sciences Building.

All students, faculty and staff have access to U of I Coeur d’Alene’s free, high-speed WiFi through their Vandal login. The AirVandalGold network is available in the DeArmond Building, Hedlund Building and Harbor Center.

Visitors can also access the AirVandalGuest network from the front desk, and NIC also offers free guest Wi-Fi on campus.

Each college and office at the University of Idaho offers a variety of student resources specific to their programs or services, and all these resources are available to Vandals in Coeur d’Alene.

You also have access to Handshake, U of I’s state-of-the-art career management database. Access thousands of jobs and internships as well as a range of other services including campus interviewing and resume referrals.

As a half-time or full-time U of I student, you have access to telehealth (online) counseling sessions with the university’s team of social workers and psychologists and initial psychiatric consultations with a psychiatric nurse practitioner, as well as case management assistance. Student Health Insurance Program (SHIP)

The Idaho State Board of Education requires proof of valid health insurance as a condition of enrollment. This policy is mandatory for all Idaho public universities and colleges and applies to all degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate students physically enrolled for classes or completing other required degree work within the state of Idaho.

The health insurance requirement applies to all international students enrolled at the Moscow campus or University of Idaho Centers regardless of degree-seeking status or credit hours.

International students are required to purchase SHIP for themselves and their accompanying dependents, or provide evidence of comparable health insurance coverage that meets or exceeds University of Idaho requirements. International students must complete a separate waiver process through the International Programs Office.

Students who are covered by Medicaid will only be allowed to waive participation in the SHIP if the coverage is provided by the state of Washington or the state of Idaho.

U of I Coeur d’Alene students have access to both the University of Idaho Library and NIC’s Molstead Library. Use your Vandal card to check out materials and use services.

Several community libraries are also available to Coeur d’Alene-area students, including the Coeur d’Alene Public Library and libraries in the Community Library Network throughout Kootenai and Shoshone counties. Library memberships are required but free to residents.

The U of I Native American Student Center and NIC’s American Indian Student Center both provide support and resources specifically for tribal students, including extra advising and tribal networking.

Students who plan on enrolling in both NIC and U of I courses in a given semester and who are seeking financial aid through U of I must review our consortium steps and fill out a consortium agreement form each semester.

A transfer pathway is an officially approved agreement used to assist students in taking the appropriate courses at a community college that will transfer for credit toward a bachelor's degree at University of Idaho.
