Emilee Kulin
Rotary Student of the Month (April 2012)
Emilee Kulin was born and raised in Kingston, Idaho. She attended the University of Idaho directly after high school and earned her Bachelors of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences- Food and Nutrition, upon completion of the Coordinated Program in Dietetics in 2005.
After graduation, Emily married and moved to Port Townsend, WA where she worked at a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility as the Culinary Service Manager and Clinical Dietitian for three years.
After the birth of their first child, Emilee and her husband returned home to North Idaho where she started her career at Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation- Mountain Valley- her current employer.
She began Graduate School in the Spring of 2010 and will be graduating this May with her Masters of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences- her final project presentation/emphasis being on quality of life needs and end-of-life care preferences of elderly residents in a long term care setting. Her family will be welcoming their second daughter the first of June.
She plans to remain employed at Mountain Valley, eventually pursuing a degree in Nursing Home Administration. Emilee is very involved in her community- she sits on the Shoshone Medical Center Foundation Board; is active in the Silver Valley Kiwanis group; volunteers at local schools and numerous community events and fundraisers. She thanks the Coeur d’ Alene Rotary for the honor of being their student of the month, as well as Dr. Janice Fletcher for the nomination!
Dr. Fletcher would like to add that “Emilee is truly an example of excellence. She makes the hour drive over the passes to attend her classes. Emilee is always on time, always prepared, always enthusiastic, and always concerned about others. She is exceptional in her approach to school, work, and living. She is clearly a citizen of our region who makes a difference in people’s lives”.
