About the Program
The Bachelor of General Studies (B.G.S.) degree program provides a non-specialized education that allows you the flexibility to develop a multidisciplinary course of study to meet your specific goals for a college degree. The degree is designed for those students who:

  • Are undecided or want to explore academic and career options before declaring a major course of study.
  • Are seeking to design a program tailored to their educational and professional goals.
  • Want to apply previously earned college credits toward the completion of a four-year degree.
  • Want to complete a degree at their own pace.

Students can add a minor, or certificate program to their B.G.S. degree. Minors available in Coeur d'Alene include the following:

  • Business Minor
  • Addictions Minor
  • Psychology Minor
  • Sociology Minor

Lower division core classes are offered at North Idaho College.  UI courses are offered live and online, depending on the electives the student chooses.
