Snow Closures: During the winter months, the University of Idaho Coeur d’Alene campus may close for weather-related conditions. A decision to close the campus may occur when snow and ice create significant hazards for drivers or pedestrians. Any decision to close the UI Coeur d’Alene campus is usually made in coordination with North Idaho College since our classrooms are located at NIC. However, the final decision regarding a closure is made by the University of Idaho President’s Office.
When a closure occurs, a notification will be distributed to local TV and radio stations. In addition, a closure announcement will be placed on the UI Coeur d’Alene’s main telephone number (208) 667-2588. If you have signed up for NICAlerts, you will receive a message if there is a snow closure on the NIC campus. If no closure announcement is made by 7:00 a.m., you can assume that UI Coeur d’Alene offices are open and that classes will be held.
