Jacob Carlson
NAME: Jacob Carlson
HOMETOWN: Eagle, Idaho
YEAR IN SCHOOL: Senior
MAJOR: Finance, Operations Management
WHY DID YOU WANT TO BE A CBE AMBASSADOR?
I wanted to reach out to students who were getting their first glimpse of life after high school. I take pride in mentoring and coaching incoming students who had a lot of the same questions and fears about what starting their college career would be like. I wanted to turn that transition period into a positive experience to get them excited about joining the CBE. When students are excited and motivated about making their experience here at Idaho a positive one, they excel in every facet of their college experience, and that leads to great things for Idaho.
WHAT HAS BEEN ON OF YOUR FAVORITE EXPERIENCES SO FAR IN THE COLLEGE OF BUSINESS AND ECONOMICS (CLASS, ACTIVITY, CLUB, STUDENT INTERACTIONS, ETC.)?
The atmosphere and culture of the college has shaped my perspective in so many ways. The high expectations that the faculty and students have of each other fosters a high-achieving student body. This attitude has pushed me to work hard and become a better scholar, professional and person while at Idaho. While the college may have high expectations of tis students, the faculty and administration give every student opportunities to display their strengths and make lifelong connections through clubs and extracurricular classes, like the CBE Ambassador Program and the Davis Investment Group. CBE faculty always are available and are dedicated to helping you achieve the high standards that you set for yourself and your peers. As a student, there’s no better place to grow than the CBE.
