WHY DID YOU WANT TO BE A CBE AMBASSADOR?
I wanted to be a CBE Ambassador because I feel like I can relate with the incoming freshmen and help to ease their worries about coming to college and choosing a major. I remember being a senior in high school and being so nervous about taking the next steps. I think it’s great that the CBE has students there to help those other students and answer questions so that they really open up. I am looking forward to getting to know the incoming freshmen and giving them building tours to talk about all the CBE’s great clubs and features. Also, I always have wanted to go back to my high school and encourage the students to continue their education. Being a CBE Ambassador would be an amazing way to do that while also being able to talk about our amazing business program.
WHAT HAS BEEN ON OF YOUR FAVORITE EXPERIENCES SO FAR IN THE COLLEGE OF BUSINESS AND ECONOMICS (CLASS, ACTIVITY, CLUB, STUDENT INTERACTIONS, ETC.)?
One of my favorite experiences so far in the CBE has been joining Vandal Solutions. Vandal Solutions is a student-run, non-for-profit marketing business, and all of our proceeds go back to the CBE through scholarship for students and funding for other clubs. Some examples of work we do are secret shops, market research, paper fliers, Facebook advertising and business plans. Students in the Vandal Solutions get credit and gain real business skills. I started off as a sales associate for Vandal Solutions making cold calls and being on a project team. I then became vice president of Human Resources for a year where I was in charge of grading, recruitment, training, performance evaluations and attendance. This year, I am president of Vandal Solutions, and have made a goal of making $15,000.
