WHY DID YOU WANT TO BE A CBE AMBASSADOR?
I wanted to become a CBE ambassador to aid incoming students in their journeys through obtaining their degrees and to become an advocate for business careers. I want to be a resource for students who have questions regarding the University of Idaho and the CBE. Being a first generation student, I know how difficult the journey can be, and I want to make it easier for the person after me.
With my successful experience within the CBE, and having completed IBC and various internships around the United States in various industries, including Goldman Sachs & Co., it will be my pleasure to pass forward my knowledge to incoming students. One of the reasons I decided to attend University of Idaho was because of the family atmosphere and the help I received during my admission process. I look forward to working with young motivated students pursuing their education.
WHAT HAS BEEN ON OF YOUR FAVORITE EXPERIENCES?
One of my favorite experiences so far in the CBE has been the encouraging professors with whom I have built personal and professional connections. Also, the opportunities I am given to become a leader and gain hands-on experience before entering the workforce.
Within the CBE I have been able to grow and challenge myself to establish the Hispanic Business Student Association, in order to increase diversity awareness for business growth in underrepresented communities. I am the current president of the organization where we provide students with career opportunities and work with the career center to engage University of Idaho students with employers by hosting a pre-career fair networking event. Another important aspect of my experience here have been the opportunity to work in teams and learn from each other experiencing group dynamics, and learning to surpass expectations through various projects.
