WHY DID YOU WANT TO BE A CBE AMBASSADOR?
Coming from a small town, even though I was close to the University of Idaho, there was still so much I didn’t know about what the University had to offer. I wanted to help inform students who were like me, so they would know all of their options. My classes at the CBE are something I can be proud of, and I wanted to share this with potential students.
WHAT HAS BEEN ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE EXPERIENCES?
The professors at CBE have gotten to know me personally and I can have regular conversations with them when I bump into them in the hallways, out in town, or when I specifically go visit them. This kind of relationships with professors is hard to come by. I am grateful to get along with so many of the CBE professors. If I am stuck with a problem, I feel comfortable going to see them, no matter how simple they question may seem.
OTHER FAVORITE EXPERIENCE.
In Quality Management class I got to take a trip to Boeing to tour their facility and am now working on a project for them. It was a very informative visit and a chance to get real experience with company problems and/or situations before I even graduate.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE NEW CBE STUDENTS?
Even though you will get busy from all your class work, have fun with it. The professors at CBE give you projects where you can be creative and excel. So, go full force into your projects. You will not regret the time you put into them, because afterwards you will have endless things to talk about in interviews or to recruiters. You will be able to pull experiences from CBE for the rest of your life either in your career or your private life.
