Top IBC Teams Awarded C. Randall Byers Scholarship
The C. Randall Byers Scholarship has been awarded to four teams of students for their outstanding performance in the Integrated Business Curriculum (IBC) program. The IBC teams were evaluated by faculty on the performance of their projects, their ability to work cohesively as a team and their team management skills.
The winning 2007-2008 IBC teams (pictured with Gail Byers) are:
- The A Team
- Synergizer Bunnies
- Team Prestige
- Team Quintessence
Each student was awarded a $200 scholarship funded by the C. Randall Byers Scholarship Endowment. The endowment was established in honor of late C. Randall (Randy) Byers, a University of Idaho alumnus and professor in the College of Business and Economics from 1973–2002.
“Professor Byers was a strong supporter of teamwork and a member of the IBC faculty teaching teams,” says Jack Morris, Dean of the College of Business and Economics. “He is remembered as a mentor and friend by both students and faculty.”
Randy and his wife Gail met as students at the University of Idaho and later had two boys, Tod and Kirk.
Gail, an entrepreneur in Moscow, is an alumna of the University of Idaho family and consumer science program and a strong university supporter. She has spoken to IBC students about entrepreneurship and family enterprise.
