Student Grateful for Scholarship
"My name is Jenna Robinson, and I am from beautiful St. Maries, Idaho. Growing up in a small town, I was extremely aware of the generosity of others, as people in my hometown community are always helping each other or supporting a community-wide project in any way possible. When I came to the University of Idaho, I didn’t expect to see that same “hometown” generosity. However, the support I have received from complete strangers reminds me that the University of Idaho is a community in itself. The U of I community is full of successful individuals who care about others and are willing to give of themselves in both time and financial support. "I am a sophomore at the University of Idaho College of Business and Economics where I am earning a degree in business marketing with a minor in public relations. I am extremely interested in sports, and I would love to be a marketing director for an NFL team! I am currently interning with the University of Idaho Athletic Department to gain experience in the business of athletics. I also work part time at a local restaurant, as well as being President of the American Marketing Association on campus.
"Last year, I was fortunate to be named as a recipient of the Story Family Scholarship. Although the financial support was extremely generous, I am most grateful for the emotional support my scholarship provided. It was such an amazing feeling to know that someone who had never met me before was willing to give so much to help me pursue my dreams. The scholarship allowed me more time to focus on my education and less time worrying about tuition.
"The University of Idaho has offered me such amazing opportunities. Not only do I have the opportunity to learn in a state-of-the-art business setting in the J.A. Albertson Building, but I also have professors that care about me as a student and as an individual. They are excited by my successes and help me conquer my weaknesses. The curriculum in the College of Business and Economics challenges students and more than adequately prepares them for success. It also offers students the ability to have global pursuits. This spring, I will be traveling with a group of students and professors to Milan, Italy. I am extremely lucky to have a top university located so close to my family as well as in the most beautiful area in the world!
"My goal is to be able to provide the same generosity to future students. I am so proud to be a member of the University of Idaho community. Thank you for all of your support, and Go Vandals!"
