CBE Grads in the Workforce: Ian Swanstrom

"The best thing about my experience at the CBE was how it truly helped me discover which direction I wanted to take my business education. Upon transferring to University of Idaho from a junior college, I was unsure about the specific focus I wanted to take with my business degree. Learning about the business enterprise as a whole throughout the Integrated Business Curriculum really helped me determine my interests and strengths, which pointed me toward a degree in finance. I am very grateful for the personal relationships I built with multiple faculty members who helped me get involved with different clubs/activities to enhance my business education.

"After graduation, I will be moving to Seattle where I have accepted a job with Washington Mutual as a Finance Leadership Program associate. This is a rotational position where I will experience four six-month-long rotations in different areas of corporate finance and accounting. My experience at the College of Business and Economics has given me extensive leadership and teamwork skills that will be very valuable to me in my career at Washington Mutual."
