The internship program is an essential portion of our PGA Golf Management program.
The University of Idaho is fortunate enough to have an 18-hole, University-owned golf course which overlooks the surrounding communities. The 6,700 yard, par 72 course offers a unique and beautiful layout that challenges the most skilled golfers. Our golf season extends from roughly March 1st to October 31st. However, during the winter months we have a partnership with an eighteen-hole golf facility located just 30 miles south of campus that allows University of Idaho PGA Golf Management students the opportunity to play while we are closed.
The PGA considers the ability to play the game of golf with a high degree of proficiency as vital for membership. Every PGA Golf Management student must pass a Player Ability Test (PAT) in order to gain membership into the PGA of America. To give students a greater chance to succeed in this area, the University of Idaho golf course hosts a PAT every fall. We encourage students interested in attending the PGA Golf Management program to play in a PAT event prior to coming on campus. Registration information and a complete PAT schedule can be found at the PGA Member site.
PGA Golf Management students are priority users of the University of Idaho golf course and have exclusive access to all the amenities our facility offers. Coupled with our intense player development programs given throughout the year, the University of Idaho PGA Golf Management program provides every opportunity for students to improve their golf game.
