Certificate Programs
Enhance your expertise and gain a competitive advantage by earning a certificate along with your business degree. In most cases, completion of the certificate will require only three to four classes beyond those required for your major. Available certificates include:
Certificate in Entrepreneurship
Provides opportunities to create and pursue new business ideas. The 12-credit program requires the following courses:
- BUS 414 Entrepreneurship
- ACCT 482 Enterprise Accounting
- Capstone Course (e.g., BUS 490 Strategic Management)
- Technical Elective (e.g., BUS 415 New Venture Creation)
Certificate in Diversity and Stratification
An interdisciplinary program offered through the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Justice Studies that provides skill development and knowledge on a broad range of diversity issues and an ability to apply that understanding to the workplace and in social life. The 12-credit program requires the following courses:
- Soc/Anth 301 Introduction to Diversity and Stratification (3 cr)
- Focus Course(s) to be chosen from an approved list (3 - 6 cr)
- Application Component: Soc/Anth 203; or Soc/Bus 404 Workshop; or preapproved internship credits (3 - 6 cr)
Certificate in Leadership Education and Development Series
Seeks to educate and develop University of Idaho students through an extensive program of interactive workshops and leadership activities that will challenge students to go beyond the classroom to develop a broad vision of their role on their campus and in their communities. You may earn a certificate in leadership or a certificate in skills.
