FORMER INTERIM PRESIDENT
One of the great joys about attending and working at the University of Idaho is the vibrancy and beauty of our campus. The lawns and trees, the bricks and ivy, the melding of new and old architecture – it is truly an inspiring, friendly and contemplative environment. Campus Day allows us to come together to celebrate our campus and its impact on how we learn and work. Please join me on April 21 as we continue our tradition of Campus Day to honor and sustain the 1,585 beautiful acres that are the University of Idaho’s Moscow campus.

Campus Day

April 2010

The University of Idaho is well-known for its lush, inviting landscape, one of the many attractive qualities that stand out to potential students and their parents, alumni coming home, friends and visitors. We, at the University of Idaho, pride ourselves on a well-maintained campus that is welcoming and full of life.

Each spring, students, faculty and staff of the University of Idaho and the surrounding community have an opportunity to take part in keeping the campus vibrant by taking part in Campus Day, a traditional event that was initially proposed at Idaho in 1910. As they did so many years ago, students, faculty, staff and the community gather together to participate in projects that beautify the campus we call home.

Participants take part in one of several outdoor projects, or work within their own department or building cleaning and organizing their own work space or that neglected closet, office, or shelf space that needs their expert touch. These are great jobs in case the weather turns nasty on us. A volunteer check-in table will be set up on the Commons Plaza to assist with the coordination of Campus Day projects.
