CALS Communications

CALS Communications leads efforts in media relations, publishing and marketing for the college and Extension. This unit is responsible for developing and implementing communication and marketing strategies to enhance and support college strategic goals through the promotion of research, teaching and Extension programs.

Services we provide

CALS Communications provides resources to faculty and staff interested in producing videos for promotional or educational purposes. Fill out our Digital Media Production Request form to request digital media services or contact Amy Calabretta at 208-885-5067 or arysdam@uidaho.edu.

CALS Communications works with UI Extension and the Idaho Agricultural Experiment Station to publish educational, research-based information for specialized audiences and the public. We publish digitally and in print, including e-books, videos and multimedia curricula.

All of our products are peer refereed through our Manuscript FastTrack peer-review system and listed in our online publications catalog.

Learn how to get started and the steps you need to take for submitting a manuscript or storyboard to Manuscript FastTrack.

Fill out our Project Request form for assistance with marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, infographics, promotional items, advertisements, graphics, etc. Amy Calabretta is the marketing and communications manager for the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences and University of Idaho Extension.

CALS Communications provides news, public information and media relations support for college and Extension programs and events. Bill Loftus is the public information officer and produces news releases and assists media by providing information and arranging interviews with faculty and staff.
