“I had an amazing experience in my high school agriculture program, which made me want to continue on with it. Through my internships, I have learned a lot about the agricultural industry, specifically the pea and lentil industry (which I knew nothing about before!). I have learned about the people and the governmental aspects of agriculture. I have also traveled on industry tours and learned about the agricultural industry from many perspectives. My activities have allowed me to meet more students and share a lot of common interests.

"The trip to Taiwan was unforgettable! It helped me see a broader view of agriculture in the world. At the university there, I liked exploring the various departments of Ag. My favorite part was the interaction with the students. Staying in the dorms was great because we got to meet so many wonderful students. A faculty member from each different department was a great benefit when touring numerous places. The night markets were a definite "must" to get the real feel of the country and culture. From the tilapia farms to the rice fields, I never realized how different our agricultural lives are, yet so similar."
