Department Chair/Head
This position will provide dynamic leadership and advocacy for the continuation and expansion of FCS’s
national and international reputation of innovative programs, applied research and acquisition; provide
leadership for all School programs and ensure that instruction, extension, and research are progressive,
innovative, of the highest quality, and compatible with goals and objectives; coordinate, evaluate and supervise undergraduate and graduate instruction; participate in the teaching program; develop and promote research; provide leadership for extension specialists and assist with statewide programs; serve as primary liaison to alumni and supporters; establish policy and procedures for unit and college programs; conduct annual faculty and staff performance evaluations as well as faculty evaluations for tenure and promotion; maintain fiscal integrity, seek funds and allocate resources among program areas; represent the School at regional and national meetings. MARGARET RITCHIE SCHOOL OF FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCES
The School of Family and Consumer Sciences provides programs in instruction, research, and extension. The School offers Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees. Undergraduate majors include: Child Family and Consumer Studies programs in Child Development/Family Relations, Family Life; Early Childhood Development and Education; Clothing, Textiles, and Design; and Food and Nutrition, including an accredited Coordinated Program in Dietetics. Enrollment is over 400 undergraduate majors and 25 graduate students. The School has 16 tenure-track positions located in Moscow, Coeur d'Alene, and Boise, Idaho. FCS Extension programs are conducted throughout the state. All faculty are involved in research or other scholarly activity.

Moscow, Idaho, is a university town of 26,000 residents nestled between Moscow Mountain and the beautiful rolling hills of the Palouse region.
