Block One
Participate in an advanced workshop that will completely cover all aspects on livestock judging. This will focus on important traits to evaluate, and how to take notes as it relates to preparing a set of reasons. It is strongly recommended that students have a solid interest and focus on learning to participate.
Learn to understand meat evaluation and placement – this workshop will prepare students for the Meat Evaluation CDE.
Block Two
Learn to understand meat evaluation and placement – this workshop will prepare students for the Meat Evaluation CDE.
Learn how to effectively judge dairy cattle based on traits and developing reasons.
Participate in a beginner's class on tips and tricks to use in Livestock Judging including important traits to evaluate, and how to take notes as it relates to preparing reasons.
Block Three
See up close the way that advanced reproductive technology is used in animal production. Learn about the imaging technique that uses high-frequency sound waves reflecting off internal body parts to create images for medical examinations. This technique will be used on dairy cows to demonstrate the advantage of this technology in diagnoses during gestation.
Students will learn about the reproductive system of cattle through a hands-on dissection activity.
Talk to current Vet Students and learn what it takes to get into Vet School and how to best set yourself up for success.
Block Four
Students in this workshop will learn the basics of GPS and possible applications to agriculture, learners will be able to use handheld GPS units to measure area, distance and find locations.
Students will take part in learning the different methods used to propagate a plant.
Students learn in an interactive activity, about how DNA is extracted from specimens!
Block Five
Tour the University of Idaho’s Forestry Nursery.
Tour & experience the Soil Steward's Organic Farm.
Students will watch a Logger Sports demonstration and learn about the Forestry programs at the University of Idaho.
Block Six
Learn about the cheese and ice cream Creamery process, talk with students about the UI/WSU Joint School of Food Science
Sample the culture and food from around the world.
Block Seven
Experience the Arboretum first hand on a walking tour.

Block Eight
Get the insider's tour of the Kibbe Dome and learn what It's like to be a student athlete.
See behind the scenes and learn what goes on at the newest remodeled pool on the Palouse!
Learn about the Navy ROTC program at UofI and get a chance to see the rifle range in action.
Block Nine
Students will learn how to develop a healthy meal plan and better their eating habits with simple tools.

Participate in the design process, learn how new styles go from an idea to a reality.
Block Eleven
Interested in starting an Ag Issues CDE team? This interactive workshop will prepare you to coach a successful Ag Issues team by exploring the in’s and out’s of the contest! A chance to apply that information will also be available, preparing you to participate & coach a state-winning Ag Issues team!
Looking for a great CDE to get your students involved with this school year? Join the Ag Communications CDE workshop and learn the ropes of this diverse contest! Ag Communications offers a great blend of team and individual components that allow students to develop teamwork skills as well a hone other interests in the media and communications realm. Even though this may sound complex and difficult, this workshop will outline each step in the contest and prepare you to be successful in the Ag Communications CDE!
The Marketing Plan CDE is a great new way to get your students more involved in the community without adding more work to your plate! This interactive workshop will outline the purpose, rules, and procedures of the contest. Rather than just listening to information about this CDE, participants will have a chance to apply the information so that training a team will be manageable and fun for everyone involved!
Teams & coaches will learn the guidelines and have a review of all new material. Students will have the opportunity to participate in an interactive mock competition on Saturday and get feedback from judges. Team members, parents, coaches, and agriculture teachers are encouraged to attend.
Block Twelve
Take part in a hands on activity where different fuels are tested on a fire table to see how they burn and react differently in varying environments
Students will learn about the different programs offered in the College of Natural Resources.
