This scholarship is funded through the University of Idaho Endowed Scholarship Fund and is named for Professors Dr. Dwight Kindschy and Dr. John A. Lawrence, Department of Agricultural and Extension Education, for their many years of service and leadership to Idaho Agriculture.

The Kindschy-Lawrence Agricultural Education Scholarship, is available to an Idaho senior high school agriculture student and Future Farmers of America (FFA) member who plans to attend the University of Idaho and major in agricultural education. In the event an Idaho senior is not selected, second choice would be a student who has completed a minimum of 26 semester credits and is majoring in agricultural education with the teaching option. Preference will be given to an Idaho resident.

The scholarship selection is based on scholastic record, personal qualifications, and FFA and other leadership activities. The committee to select the scholarship winner will consist of agricultural education faculty. The scholarship winners will be announced at the annual state FFA Leadership Conference when an Idaho senior is the recipient.

If the recipient does not qualify for the scholarship, the award will go to an alternate. It is understood that the recipient will attend the University of Idaho the fall semester and major in agricultural education - teaching option.
