The College of Art and Architecture continues with its plan for an exciting and invigorating future.
Thanks to your support, the College was reactivated in 2006. Since then, we have moved forward deliberately under the premise of integrated art and design in a common studio culture. The College's strategic plan – Create, Collaborate, Lead – articulates these concepts in a bold series of vision statements and strategies.
After a yearlong process, and drawing on our vision and strategic plan, the College has proposed a reconfiguration of the College that moves us to a single-unit management structure. This reflects our continued commitment to an integrated college of art and design in which each discipline contributes to and reinforces the educational goals of other disciplines.
We are pleased to announce that this proposal positions the College to increase relevance to the industry; develop more flexible formats for delivery of integrated, interdisciplinary teaching and research; and meet the call for larger departments and more efficient management structures.
The new configuration would create greater synergy between faculty members and students, mirroring the evolving profession that centers on integrated disciplines. As a result, it positions the College of Art and Architecture to continue as a leading educational model for the industry.
Though the proposal now must move through the comprehensive review process, we are confident that this integrated design will prepare our students for the changing profession.

We appreciate your continued support as we look to a revitalized future!
