Track 1: The Built and Natural Environments
If you are a high school student considering a career in architecture, interior design or landscape architecture and you possess the desire to make a positive contribution to the world, then the Built and Natural Environments track of Summer Design Week can help you find and develop your passions. The program requires no specialized knowledge or background beyond a desire to create engaging and sustainable places. The course is designed to strengthen your creativity and visualization skills towards the design of buildings, interiors and landscapes that make a strong impact. Through a graduated sequence of low risk exercises, interactive lectures and fun evening activities, the program will increase your ability to design a final project that reflects you, and your ideas about what makes the world a better place to live, work and play.
Track 2: Art and the Virtual World
If you are a high school student considering a career in the visual arts or design, then the Art and Virtual World track will help you explore your passions. The program requires no specialized knowledge or background beyond a desire to create compelling visual experiences – both real and virtual. The course is designed to foster your creativity, visual problem solving, and storytelling skills. You will explore design fundamentals, story, character, and visualization in a series of exercises, interactive lectures and fun evening activities. The program will increase your ability to make interesting art and design that really engages an audience.
Cost: $985 Includes art supplies, room & board.

Eligibility: Must be at least 15 years of age, 16 for college credit.
