Internships
If students want to receive university credit for summer internships they must follow the guidelines established by the program below:
• Students must be a landscape architecture major and submit an internship proposal for faculty approval during spring semester. This proposal must include a letter of agreement from the employer providing the internship.
• Students will also need to receive permission from a landscape architecture faculty member to serve as their internship mentor for the summer and register for no more than 3 directed study credits. Students may not sign up for credits during spring or fall semester. Internships are granted during summer only.
• The student must keep a daily journal of their internship, noting activities, skills and knowledge learned. This will be submitted along with photographs or drawings of projects they assisted with and a 5-page double spaced paper detailing the benefits of the internship.
• The employer providing the internship must submit a letter to the student’s mentor evaluating the student’s performance. This, with the above items must be submitted by the end of Summer Session for the student to receive a satisfactory grade.
Interested students should inquire at larch@uidaho.edu or call 208-885-7448.
