Admissions

Admission into the interior design program is competitive. You will apply to gain admittance to both the second and third year design studios.

Year One: Complete University Requirements
Work to satisfy the University of Idaho’s core educational requirements and complete preparatory courses for intensive interior design study.

Year Two: Pre-Professional Interior Design Program
Upon completion of your first-year requirements, you will apply (at the end of spring semester) to the pre-professional B.I.D. program. Your work will be evaluated on your transcripts and grade point average (minimum 2.5 GPA required). Approximately 20 of the most qualified students (including transfer students) are selected for admission. Transfer students may qualify for advanced placement.

Year Three: Professional Interior Design Program
After completing second-year requirements, you may apply to the professional interior design program. The application must include a portfolio of your design work, transcript and GPA (minimum 2.5 GPA required). Approximately 15 of the most qualified students (including transfer students) are selected for admission.
