About

The interior design program in the College of Art and Architecture offers Idaho’s only Bachelor of Interior Design (B.I.D.).

This nationally accredited professional degree program, which is one of only a few B.I.D. programs in the entire U.S., is carefully crafted to give you the distinctive skill set, broad design knowledge and practical experiences you need to thrive in today’s dynamic interior design profession.

Valuable Interdisciplinary Knowledge
As part of the Architecture and Interior Design program, the B.I.D. program provides interdisciplinary skills and knowledge in the closely related field of architecture. You will automatically graduate with a minor in architecture, which greatly enhances your career opportunities.

Exceptional Hands-on Learning
Here, you apply classroom theory to real-world situations. Intensive design studios and community outreach programs give you the chance to create viable solutions for actual design problems. You also design and build prototype furniture in our unique furniture design and construction course. Internships and study abroad opportunities provide important practical experience, too.

Interior Design the Green Way
As recognized leaders in sustainability, we are committed to teaching our students environmentally and socially responsible design. Throughout the program you will learn to apply regenerative and universal design concepts, with ample hands-on experience applying the latest sustainable practices and materials.
