Designing a Legacy
David Giese, Professor of Art & Design, has taught students from across disciplines during his 36 years in the College of Art & Architecture (CAA) at the University of Idaho, bringing his background as a professional, exhibiting artist to students in Moscow since 1977. He has participated in more than 235 exhibitions and has received a number of awards, including the 2010 Governor’s Award in the Arts in Idaho. From the hand built Mardi Gras floats to the richness of his “excavations from La Villa Bitricci,” Professor Giese has greatly impacted the entire CAA community. CAA celebrates his accomplishments and thanks him for his service to the University of Idaho as he launches his retirement and his legacy: The David Giese Fellowship for Interdisciplinary Studies.
