Student Endorsements

Summer Design Week fosters an environment that is both fun and informative. Many students make friendships that will extend beyond their week with us. "I learned that designers can be part of something better, that we can help the world in even bigger ways than we ever thought possible."

"It was a lot of fun! I [would] definitely recommend it to a friend!"

"I would do it all over again :)"

"I learned that there are a lot of principles that are common throughout all types of design and how design and designers can really affect our lives, in more ways than one."

"I realized my emotional attachment to places (I did not have that before). Also got to meet some incredible people that share the interest of design."

"I really enjoyed my experience at Summer Design Week. Not only was it informative, but it was fun. I made many new friends and I learned many new things I will use in the future."

Students will leave the week with working knowledge that builds upon their existing skills--and informs their future aspirations. "I now know that the environments that we live and spend time in affect our moods and health. Which means that the people who design our buildings and surrounding can help to make lives better. I want to have that ability to influence peoples lives."

"In the lecture about space and parasites, I learned that designers can be part of something better, that we can help the world in even bigger ways than we ever thought possible."

"I learned how interconnected the different disciplines were and how different portions of each could be applied to another."

"The most meaningful thing I learned during Summer Design Week is the fact that design is more important than I thought it was."
