Students for Place-based Planning and Urban Design
SPPUD is the University of Idaho student chapter of the
American Planning Association
and strives to promote place-based planning and community design.
Some of the events we organize!
SPUDD hosted the inaugural Jane's Walk in Moscow in cooperation with the City of Moscow and is
planning to make this an annual event.
The event honors Jane Jacobs, an urbanist and activist, who championed a fresh, community-based approach to
city building and encouraged walkability of cities.
Other events include film screenings relevant for community building.
This year's film is Broken Limbs,
co-sponsored by the Moscow Co-op and
will be screened on October 15
The triple bottom line...
We promote thinking in terms of the "triple bottom line": an inclusive sustainability
that balances the needs of our natural environment and cultural environment in an
economically feasible manner.
