Outreach & Research
Faculty and students are addressing some of the most pressing issues facing the field of architecture today through our outreach and research programs.
Architecture faculty members are widely recognized for their leading expertise and significant research contributions in such areas in sustainable and regenerative design, daylighting, and community and urban design. Students — both undergraduate and graduate — have uncommon opportunities to engage in this exciting faculty research.
The Integrated Design Laboratory and the Idaho Urban Research & Design Center, both located in Boise, provide critical field research and resources for professional architects and other designers, community planners, builders, nonprofits, businesses, governmental agencies and other organizations. These programs also give architecture students outstanding opportunities to examine urban design challenges in a metropolitan setting.
