- He completed his Residency in Psychiatry in St. Louis at the Washington University School of Medicine
- He is board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
- Dr. Larsen is the attending Psychiatrist for psychiatric inpatients at the Boise VAMC
