Engineering Research in Southern Idaho

Specialists provide technical assistance, training and information to strengthen the competitiveness of Idaho manufacturers, processors and inventors through continuous product and process improvement. TechHelp is a partnership of the University of Idaho, Idaho State University, and Boise State University and an affiliate of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP). It is also Idaho's Economic Development Administration University Center, targeting economically distressed areas of Idaho.

Design and Manufacturing
Current research focuses on improving printing processes, lean and six sigma, design for manufacture, and product development.

Energy and Efficiency Research Group
EERG focuses on increasing the use of energy from renewable sources, and more efficient use of nonrenewable sources. Research partners from state and federal agencies, as well as private business, work with the EERG on projects such as the catalytic ignition in internal combustion engines and energy from agricultural residue projects.
