Dillion Appointed Interim Center Executive Officer of University of Idaho Boise Center

MOSCOW, Idaho – Jan. 13, 2014 – Lee Dillion will serve as the Interim Center Executive Officer of the University of Idaho Boise center. He assumes the position from Trudy Anderson, who retired in December 2013 after having served in that role since 2006. Dillion is expected to serve in this new capacity through June 2014, coinciding with a national search for permanent leadership. While serving in the interim position, Dillion will continue to act as the associate dean for Boise programs for the College of Law.

“I would not have been interested in the interim position without the tremendous work of Trudy Anderson over the past decade,” said Dillion. “As a result of her leadership, UI Boise supports the teaching and research missions of the university’s southern Idaho colleges and units, and supports and delivers outreach and engagement services and programs to the public. During her tenure, Trudy assembled a highly accomplished team, together with management and operations systems, that make UI Boise efficient and collegial. My goal is to ensure that UI Boise continues to support these efforts moving forward.”

Dillion joined the University of Idaho in 2001 as the director of external programs and an instructor. While in this role, Dillion started the University of Idaho Small Business Legal Clinic in Boise. In 2010, he was named associate dean of Boise programs where he was responsible for the College of Law’s expanding programs in the Treasure Valley.

Licensed to practice law in Idaho, Dillion previously worked in private practice focusing on business organization and planning, business and real estate acquisitions, health law, and general commercial law. He served as a member and chair of the Boise City Planning and Zoning Commission, as well as a hearing examiner for the City of Caldwell’s Planning and Zoning Department. He currently chairs the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the Idaho Law Foundation.

Dillion has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Chicago. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Idaho State Bar Association, Phi Beta Kappa, and several business and professional organizations.
