Welcome from the Director

Welcome to the Educational Opportunity Center.

If you are an adult interested in postsecondary education, but aren’t sure where to start, we invite and encourage you to visit us. We can talk about your interests and review a variety of program and school options. We can also assist and guide you through the entire application and acceptance process, including financial aid.

We extend the opportunities of higher education to underserved adults, as we believe that these programs change lives. Those with a high school education increasingly struggle to achieve gainful employment as the economy continues to demand higher skills and productivity from their workers. Postsecondary programs, including technical, skilled trade and certificate programs, typically offer higher wages and more secure employment. As the gap between those with a college degree and those without becomes wider, we realize that we need to work even harder to ensure that every adult is offered access to some form of postsecondary education.

It can be done. We’ve assisted countless individuals enrolling in programs that they never previously envisioned for themselves, and many start that process with us by first obtaining their GED. We hope that if you’re interested in postsecondary education, you contact us to see if you will qualify for our services. You could be one of many on their way to a brighter, more hopeful, and well deserved future.

Sincerely,

Margaret "Meg" Stephenson, EOC Director
