About the Program
Agricultural and Education is a partner in the college’s delivery of research-based information and new knowledge to those engaged in the production of safe, nutritious food and those involved in the extensive food systems in Idaho, the Pacific Northwest, and the global society. The emphasis is on creative solutions and methodologies of quality program delivery by faculty and staff.
Agricultural and Education is uniquely positioned to demonstrate the relevancy of teaching in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences to prepare students, clientele, and communities for the challenges of the new century. Agricultural and Education will model instruction as science and art in the service of lifelong learners interested in leadership, communication, agriculture, family, and consumer sciences.
The department's mission is to improve the economic well-being and quality of life for individuals, families and communities in the state of Idaho, the nation, and the whole world through undergraduate and graduate education, Extension, research, agricultural education, and outreach activities focused on communication, leadership, and youth development.
