BIODIESEL (methyl or ethyl ester of plant oils or animal
fats) is a new fuel which is being tested under a wide range of
conditions including both neat and blended with petrodiesel.
Users of this fuel should be aware that the fuel must meet ASTM
D6751. According to our analysis engine manufacturers generally
neither approve or disapprove of biodiesel. They state their
warranties are for material and workmanship. Users of this
fuel or any fuel not meeting manufacturers' published fuel
specification requirements assume warranty liability for failure
of components or emissions certification traceable to the fuel.
Non-fuel related warranty issues are not affected by the use of
BIODIESEL. Some engine manufacturer's recommend the use of 5%
biodiesel or less.
Biodiesel is not exempt from road tax in most states and
localities. If you use biodiesel in your vehicle and the
distributor has not assessed the appropriate federal and local
tax, you are responsible for reporting the tax liability to the
proper federal, state and local agencies. If in doubt, contact
your state, local, or federal tax board.
